Scholarship worth over £2000 for actors-in-training

Just Add Milk announce their latest project, The JAM Scholarship: a scheme support a student at drama school in second year with financial and artistic opportunities.

What?

The JAM Scholarship is a scheme set up by Just Add Milk Theatre Company Ltd (JAM), to support a student at drama school in second year as they approach their third year. In third year, drama school students across the country reach the final part of their training and perform to the industry for the first time. For a lot of students, third year can be an extremely expensive. As well as paying extortionate amounts to be at a drama school, things like headshots, Spotlight membership and buying tickets to see theatre quickly deplete students’ already limited funds. JAM have brought on-board as much support as possible to help the eventual scholarship recipient through third year and into the industry.

Second year students at drama schools in the UK will be eligible to apply and the process will ask actors to perform a one minute monologue. The applicants will be whittled down into a shortlist. The final decision will be made from a panel lead by the Director of the School of Acting at ArtsEd, Julie Spencer. We are also delighted to be have the selection process supported by Industry Minds.

Why?

Kristian, Kyle and Liam (Team JAM) have all been through drama school and know how difficult it can be, financially, mentally and practically. We’re doing this to give something back to a student and help support their future in the industry. We also want to develop the scholarship into something much bigger, and eventually support more and more students.

When?

We will be announcing the scholarship on 30th September 2019 and opening applications on 7th October. The Deadline will be Friday 1st November. The winner will be announced at an evening hosted by JAM at Park Theatre.

How?

To apply, actors must be subscribed to our newsletter by 7th October 2019 and then will receive an email with the next steps.
