I, Deserve

In Autumn 2023, we produced an R&D for Simon Vinnicombe’s new play, I Deserve. The play centres around domestic abuse, we aim to bring the play to the stage in 2025.

Synopsis
Toni is a forty something Mum of one, who realises that she is losing all that she holds dear. She visits a therapist, who encourages her to re-visit the horrors of her childhood, living in a household of domestic violence. Toni soon realises that she can only become the Mother she wants to be by challenging the Mother she had. We leap back and through the years of Toni’s life – a brutal, unsafe childhood, and the present, where she battles to give her son everything she never had. An extraordinary tale of courage and love in the face of violence.
