support the next generation of working class actors
We’re a charity that receives no core funding. That means we rely solely on the generous support and funding of individuals to deliver our year-round programme of plays, workshops, scholarship and education.
Without your support, we wouldn’t have scholarship winners like Madison, Sol, Ayo and Melodie (above) - all working class actors from low-income backgrounds and that have had life and career-changing opportunities thanks to your generosity.
It’s not just the lives of scholarship winners you’re improving, read more about where your donations go below
What does your donation support?
-
Workshops
We’re run the most affordable casting workshops in the UK. We run approximately 5 workshops a week in-person and and online and include casting, agent and acting workshops and courses.
-
The Luke Westlake Scholarship
Since 2019, we have hosted an annual scholarship for working class actors at drama school and university. Since then, we’ve had 4 winners and provided over £20,000 worth of support to launch their careers into the industry.
Ayomide Adegun (2020) was recently cast in his first major on-screen role in the John Wick spin-off, The Continental. He has recently been announced as a supporting role in The Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
-
New plays
After producer Liam McLaughlin joined in 2018, we’ve gone onto to produce new writing plays that have taken place at venues all over the country.
We work with working class writers to feed into our mission and give them the platform to have their voices heard.
Our latest production, Biscuits For Breakfast by Gareth Farr, will open at Hampstead Theatre in May 2023.
-
Education
We work with various partners across the UK to deliver educational programmes and classes.
From ArtsEd to Rose Bruford, South Essex College to Lyric Hammersmith, we work closely with students who are graduating and ensure they are prepared for the industry with casting workshops and a range of ‘how to’ sessions such as theatre company formation, Arts Council bid-writing and agent representation letters.
