The JAM Academy

This course is open to actors of all ages, including under 18s. We have two spaces left for OVER 18 ONLY.

Welcome to our two-day intensive acting for screen course taking place at the Old Diorama Arts Centre.

Led by seasoned casting professionals across the two days:

  • Faye Timby

    • Faye worked as an agent for three years before moving into casting. She works as an associate and co-casting director to Sophie Holland and is also casting director for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum. Recent credits include (as casting director) The Playlist, RIPD 2, (as associate) YOU S4, The Witcher Blood Origins, Vampire Academy, Shadow & Bone S2.

  • Chandra Ruegg

    • Chandra Ruegg started working in the industry as a child actress. After more than twenty years, she moved into the world of casting and works across screen as a Casting Associate and theatre as a Casting Director.

      She is currently at Sophie Holland Casting.

      Recent credits there include:

      Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice (Warner Bros), The Witcher S3 (Netflix), Wednesday (MGM/Netflix) The Peripheral (Amazon Studios)

      Theatre Credits Include:

      Grenfell: In The Words Of Survivors (National Theatre), Running With Lions (Lyric Hammersmith), Lava (Bush Theatre) and Casting Consultant on An Octoroon (Abbey Theatre, Dublin).

      She also had a stint as an associate for Olivia Scott Webb, working on Ballerina (Lionsgate)

Day One: Sat 23rd Nov 2024, 10am-4:30pm, Old Diorama Arts Centre.

  • 10am-12:15pm - Faye Timby - U18 group

    You will work on their scenes with Faye and then you will then have a mock style audition.

  • 10am-12:15pm - Chandra Ruegg - 18+ group.

    You will work on their scenes with Chandra and then you will then have a mock style audition.

  • 12:15-1 - LUNCH

  • 1:00pm - 3:15pm - Faye Timby - 18+ group

    You will work on their scenes with Faye and then they will then have a mock style audition.

  • 1:00pm - 3:15pm - Chandra Ruegg- U18 group

    You will work on their scenes with Chandra and then they will then have a mock style audition.

  • 3:20-4pm - Q&A with all actors.

Day two: Sun 24th Nov 2024, 10am-4:30pm, Old Diorama Arts Centre.

  • 10am-12:30pm

    Students will film both their scenes with our professional videographer (Joe Hughes) and directed by Chandra Ruegg. These will then be sent to the actors within 2/3 working days.

  • 1-1:45pm

    U18 group with parents Q&A with Dylan Stafford, Senior Casting Assistant (Gary Davy Casting)

  • 1-1:45pm

    18+ group Q&A with agent - Perry Juby (Revolution Talent)

  • 2:00-2:45pm

    U18 group with parents Q&A with agent - Perry Juby (Revolution Talent)

  • 2:00-2:45pm

    18+ group Q&A with Dylan Stafford, Senior Casting Assistant (Gary Davy Casting)
